Saturday February 26| 10 AM - 2:30 PM

LeMay - America’s Car Museum invites you to join us for two new teacher training workshops. Stay for one or both of the sessions, and leave with some creative ideas to incorporate into your classroom! Participation in the program qualifies for up to 4 clock hours.

The schedule for this event is listed below:

Nation on Wheels (Social Studies) | 10 am - 12 pm

The rise of the automobile completely transformed the United States, from how Americans lived and worked to the physical landscape of the country. This session will take you on a tour through history as we discuss the impact that cars had on American culture and how the people and the culture of America shaped the cars we’ve driven and continue to drive today. Join us for this thought-provoking session and leave with information and ideas to incorporate into your classroom.

Force & Motion (Science) | 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm

Modern automobiles are designed with safety in mind, incorporating features like crumple zones, bumpers, roll cages, air bags, and more into every vehicle that comes off the line. This session will explore Newton’s first law, the law of inertia, and how it relates to car accidents as we design, plan, and problem-solve to successfully complete a design challenge. We’ll also discuss how you can include this lesson in your classroom curriculum and how it can be modified to suit your needs!

Registration will close at midnight on Sunday, February 20, 2022.

* Please note that refunds cannot be issued following the close of program registration. In order to receive a refund prior to the close of registration, all cancellations must be made in writing.
